NEW ENGINE INSTALL JUST IN TIME FOR RED BULL AIR RACE RIO DE JANEIRO

It’s been a long time coming but the new engine is finally being installed on our Edge 540 racer. The team was extremely disappointed that paperwork issues kept the engine from starting the 2010 season with us in Abu Dhabi. When it was time for the Perth race, last minute adjustments meant shipment down under would not happen in time either. After days of worry about our engine clearing customs and actually making it to Rio, we’re happy to report its made the journey, safe and sound, and is in the last stages of install as we speak!

Here’s what Crew Chief Jason Resop has to say about the new blue beast:

“I’m excited to finally have the new engine. From the outside it looks good and we’ve made some pretty radical changes on the interior too. We’re hoping the tricks inside will create a lot of performance benefits for our team. Right now I’m just anxious to get it running and racing to see how much horsepower we’ve actually gained.”

Tomorrow will be the first day for test flights and the first time we run the new engine. If all goes as planned we’ll have a blazing fast engine come race day. Stay tuned here for updates throughout the week as we gear up the third race of the season. SMOKE ON!
