The morning of Quali Day was a down pour, consequently changes had to be made to the schedule. The pilots ran an afternoon training session with two flights, followed by the first qualification run. First run and Kirby came in at 1:18.66, followed by a slightly better time in Q2 of 1:18.58. That puts Kirby in the 10th spot for the race, going head to head with Matt Hall.
Kirby felt like he had a great run in Q2 with a very clean line. The times to beat are coming in at 1:15-1:16….Kirby said, ” I’m going to hang it out for a great time, I’ll push as hard as I can!”
