QUALIFYING DAY, RED BULL AIR RACE, LAS VEGAS 2014!

Yesterday was a roller coaster for Team Chambliss!

In the two practice flights before qualifying, Kirby had slightly more than a one second difference between the two times. In the first practice round, Kirby’s time was 51.665, and in the second round, came in with the 2nd fastest time of 50.514. As we said before, this is a flat track without a large vertical element. The times are close, several seconds apart! As we went into Qualifying there was less than 5 knots of wind and very hot making the density altitude high.

In Qualifying Kirby was 11th with 52.511 and Pete McLeod qualified first having a scorching time of 49.588. It is going to be an interesting day with the wind already beginning to blow! That always makes the course a little more difficult for the pilots but interesting for the spectators! The Race is getting ready to start, lots of anticipation here at Las Vegas Motor Speedway! Who will end up on top today?

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been a terrific venue for the 7th race in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. I know the Teams have had a fantastic time this week, with so much to do and see in Vegas!

Keep up to date with the latest news from the Team on Facebook/Kirby Chambliss, Twitter/@KirbyChambliss and Instagram/KirbyChambliss. Smoke On!
