RED BULL AIR RACE BUDAPEST: DAYS THREE AND FOUR

We thought we’d escaped the heat when we left Arizona and Brazil, but boy, were we wrong! The first three days were sunny and HOT! We may be used to the warmth from home, but it’s something we don’t mind escaping during the summer months. Well, as they say, “ask and you shall receive”. As skies turned gray and rain began to fall, the temperature dropped nearly 30°F overnight! Thursday morning was spent waiting out the rain and anticipating better weather. By early afternoon, the sun was out and all teams were able to get a few test flights in.

Training sessions in the race track begin tomorrow. Paulo and Jason are continuously striving to increase speed, but overall the plane is in good shape. Our goal is to focus on pushing the G limit without exceeding the maximum allowance. The track is quite straight due to the nature of the venue, and we expect to carry a lot of speed as the critical turns are approached. We have two trainings to finalize our path before Qualifying round on Saturday, so we plan to make it count!
