RED BULL AIR RACE BUDAPEST: QUALIFYING DAY

AP-1NXYH4R9N1W11_Weather (1)

Today was an extremely wet day! The teams have been moved to an alternative airport with a solid runway (rather than the grass field we were operating out of prior) in efforts to increase chances of flight operations. However, continuous rain halted all flights, and Qualifying was canceled for safety purposes. As in Chiba, the head-to-head matchups will be based on the World Championship Standings. Lineup for tomorrow’s Round of 14 is as follows:

  • Heat 1: Francois LeVot v. Hannes Arch
  • Heat 2: Juan Velarde v. Yoshihide Muroya
  • Heat 3: Pete McLeod v. Nigel Lamb
  • Heat 4: Michael Goulian v. Nicolas Ivanoff
  • Heat 5: Matt Hall v. Martin Sonka
  • Heat 6: Peter Podlunsek v. Kirby Chambliss
  • Heat 7: Peter Kopfstein v. Matthias Dolderer

It will be a challenging race day, as none of the pilots have flown the full track. Gate two was down during both training sessions for technical issues. But, our team remains confident and has prepared Kirby for this situation! We are crossing our fingers for better weather tomorrow and hope to find ourselves on the podium once again!
