RED BULL AIR RACE CANNES: QUALIFYING DAY

Today’s qualifying round was arguably one of the most exciting in the history of the Red Bull Air Race! Not only is it the first time the series has made its way to France, but we saw the track record fall six times!

Winner of the DHL Fastest Lap Award**, Kirby qualified second with a time of 57.073 seconds behind fellow American, Michael Goulian, just .116 second off the pace. Tomorrow he will face Martin Sonka in Heat 6 of the Round of 14.

“I’m really happy with our Qualifying runs. We had some time to make up after the practice sessions and we definitely did that today. My goal for tomorrow is to remain clean and consistent with the lines I flew today,” remarks Kirby.

  • Heat 1: Christian Bolton vs. Mika Brageot
  • Heat 2: Nicolas Ivanoff vs. Matthias Dolderer
