After eight years, the Red Bull Air Race has made its way back Porto, Portugal! With success at this venue in the past years, our team is excited for what this weekend will have in store, especially with the momentum of back-to-back wins!
The pilots have now had two free practice sessions in the track, and it’s clear that the race will come down to the master of the three vertical turn maneuvers (VTM).
“This track isn’t as technical as some of the others in the series, so it will be all about [the VTM’s]. I was pushing the edge on my pulls through these gates during practice to really define my limits for race day. I did get a few “climbing in the gate” calls, but I think we’re on the right track,” remarks Kirby.
