WHAT HAPPENS IN OFF SEASON?

When Kirby and Team Chambliss talk about the off season, it leads people to believe that the Team actually takes the season off. This is not the case and sometimes the “off season” is busier than the air show and air race season. There are schedules to firm up and continued training for the coming year’s shows and events. This is also the time for extensive inspections on all aircraft, both airframe and engines. The Team takes the time to make sure that they have everything ready for Kirby’s next season.

When there is free time, Kirby likes to sky dive, ride motorcycles, workout and fly his Storch. He also enjoys catching up with his friends and spending time with his family.

The Team is excited to be doing some air shows that we have never had the privilege to work, like Sea Fair in Seattle and Hill Air Force Base in Utah. We are equally thrilled to be returning to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Every year is different and each year we have the opportunity to connect with more and more fans who become friends.

The five time United States National Aerobatic Champion, and two time Red Bull Air Race World Champion will continue to bring excellence to aerobatics in 2012! Look for the 2012 schedule in the next few weeks…..  Keep in mind, the schedule will change through out the year, as we add new events. Kirby and Team Chambliss look forward to seeing you at any one of these events in 2012!

Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimists the parachute.     ~Gil Stern
