Wow, the time is flying by…..We have been so busy the last ten days! Our new home is a runway painted on a port dock, at the edge of the water! I guess you could say that every landing will be on the edge! Red Bull Air Race is all about a temporary runway where it is needed, as we have seen in prior races.
Kirby and the rest of the pilots did hero shots today with downtown Abu Dhabi as a backdrop! Kirby led a three ship formation flight close to iconic landmarks, which was filmed by photographers following in a helicopter and an airplane. One of the landmarks was a newly built F1 Track, “It’s huge and really incredible”, said Kirby.
Tomorrow is our last day before qualifying day. The day will be filled with media, sponsors, briefings and two training flights before noon. It will be our first time on the actual race track, with three flights left before qualifying. The excitement is building!
