KIRBY CHAMBLISS

Kirby Chambliss has spent so much time up flying his Zivko Edge 540’s he now jokes that the plane controls and wings are a mere extension of his own arms. It’s second nature. The former Red Bull Air Race World Champion, was raised racing motocross but always knew he’d be a pilot. He began flying at age 13 and by 24 became the youngest commercial pilot at Southwest Airlines. JASON RESOP

Jason Resop’s love for aviation, like the rest of Team Chambliss, came at a very young age. While still in high school he began fueling airplanes at a local airport, which is where he was first introduced to current Red Bull Air Race pilot, Kirby Chambliss. JOHN HANLON

John Hanlon never questioned what he wanted to do in life. His two older brothers, both fellow pilots, introduced him to the world of aviation from “as far back as he can remember.“ Realizing a love for the skies, John didn’t wait to start his career in aviation; he had his first flying lesson at 11 years old, went on his first solo flight by 16 and at 18, earned his private pilot’s license. GRANT GROATHOUSE

Grant Groathouse was born to an aviation family and is a third generation pilot. Grant began his aviation career fueling airplanes during high school at the Chandler Municipal Airport and also began working on his private pilot certificate, which he received at 17. He has gone on to receive multiple ratings, including commercial pilot. Grant received his Aeronautical Management degree from Arizona State University and is currently a pilot for Allegiant Airlines. (more…)

DANNY ONOFRYTON

Danny Onofryton at 19 years old is the youngest member of Team Chambliss. Danny has loved aviation for as long as he can remember. Starting at age of only 14, Danny began working at a small airport in Northern Wisconsin. Working as a line employee Danny saved and earned enough to fund his passion for flying and by his 18th birthday, Danny had earned his commercial and instrument license.Danny met Kirby and worked with the team as an intern at a few air shows including EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. As the Team Intern he will be learning as much as he can and helping out the team in every aspect. Danny will be attending Arizona State University in 2014.

In his free time, Danny enjoys attending Phoenix Coyotes  hockey games, hiking, and traveling. If you ever need to find him, just look up! He can be found flying his family’s Cessna 172!
